Things That Make Me Smile

smile

The lovely Crissy recently tagged me with a ‘Things That Make Me Smile’ blog award and now it is my task to pass it on. This blog shall contain seven random titbits about myself, a smiley song, a few things that make me smile, and seven blogs to which I shall pass on the award with a little message to make them smile.

The Seven Me’s

about me

  1. Recently I have become obsessed with Crosswords, and attempt to complete one daily. I enjoy them because they make me feel more intelligent than actually I am.
  2. I tend to obsess over something intensively (such as a song, or a item of food) for a short period of time and then get over/bored of it and move onto something new.
  3. The more individual I look the better I feel.
  4. Post-its, my iPod alarm and my white board are my best friends, I put reminders everywhere lest I forget something, which I (almost)never do.
  5. I love to read, if I don’t have a book on the go something is very very wrong.
  6. The Secret Garden was my favourite film as a child. When I was 10 my sister and I had an argument and she threw my video of it out of our bedroom window.
  7. My first ever obsessions where Harry Potter and Stargate, I was 15.

The Song

tapes

Jiggery Pokery – The Duckworth Lewis Method
“It was jiggery pokery trickery chockery how did he open me up?
Robbery muggery Aussie skulduggery out for a buggering duck.
What a delivery I might as well have been holding a child’s balloon.
Jiggery pokery who was this nobody making me look a buffoon.
Like an accident prone baboon.”

This song is about a 1993 Ashes (Cricket) match, it is hilarious.

The Seven Smiles
Those of you who know me well will know that things that make me really smile are rare
Praise – I like to know when I am doing well.

hair swoop

  1. When people do unexpected things.
  2. Pretty things in ugly places.
  3. Apple pie.
  4. My favourite TV shows.
  5. The first spring flowers in bloom.
  6. Bright blue skies.
  7. Singing.

The Seven Blogs

others

  • Cecilie of Cecilielalala. Cecilie is fabulous, her blogs are always fun to comment on and I love how accessible she is as a writer. She also has very pretty pictures lined down the side of her blog which are always pretty to look at.
  • Brandi of Not Your Average Ordinary. Brandi is like variety, she is the spice of life. I don’t know how she manages to blog about such interesting and diverse subjects but she does, and she does it brilliantly. I look forward to commenting on her site because I know I’m probably going to find or learn about something I didn’t know about before.
  • Julia of Winter Perfume. Julia is such a sweetie, and had the most beautiful blog. I always enjoy reading her blogs, she never fails to entertain. I urge you all to visit because not enough people know about her site.
  • Krissy of Shimmer Like Gold: Krissy’s blogs are beautiful, artistic and fascinating. She is one of those people who could take a pile of completely odd unordered ugly items and make it into a work of beauty. She is one of the loveliest person I know and frankly if you aren’t reading her blog already, you should be.
  • Manda of Break the Sky: You can always rely on Manda to give a frank and honest opinion, she doesn’t fudge around a subject and her blogs are always entertaining, interesting and well worth the read! I’ve been reading Manda’s blog for years (I forget the year, Manda!) and never have I encountered something she has written and thought it not worth reading. She is also one of my most favourite people ever (<3).
  • Tran of Novella.nu. Tran amazes me, she is teaching herself the violin (I always remember this fantastic fact every time I go to her blog) I am in awe of her talent! She also watches Skins, which automatically propels her into the realms of awesome.
  • Zoya of Macabre Rose. I’ve not been reading Zoya’s blog long, but I’m so glad I’ve found it. Zoya always posts about interesting and diverse topics. I’m never bored when I visit there, it’s often temping to waffle on forever in response too. Plus her layout is so shiny, love it.

Ahh I just watched the Secret Garden for the millionth time a few days ago!!! I love that movie so much especially when I was just a mere 3rd grader. I like the celebrity “mugshot” pictures I guess you can call them? Very awesome!! I love looking individual/unique, because that way people think “I wish I had the guts to pull that off” lol.

I LOVE crossword puzzles! I bought a huge book of them a few weeks ago and it’s like my new best friend. Haha.

And that pictures of all the actors/actresses with the little signs always makes me laugh whenever I see it.

And thank you for the happiness inducing message! I’m beaming. :D *moosh*

You are the best <3

Let's just say you've been reading my entries for a year. My archives only go back to Jan 2009 because I lost (aka will not upload the backed up database file I have :P) my entries from my embarrassing first venture into blogging way back in… 2006?
